We are thrilled to kick off the new year with a new beer launch. This January, we have launched our latest beer: a 4% Pilsner.
Our brewers have built this beer from the ground up. It has been in development for six months and is characteristically unique. The malts are different for each beer, and so are the hops. The only constant element versus our award-winning Curious Lager Brew is that the two beers share the same yeast. Our lagers are crafted with Champagne yeast, and this provides a more complex aroma and a cleaner finish, resulting in a much better tasting lager.
Curious Pilsner 4% is a celebration of our county’s hop-growing heritage. A traditional Pilsner-style lager brewed with three locally grown hop varieties. Ernest and Bullion provide aromas of citrus, orange, apricot and lemon, whilst the classic Kent Challenger is our bittering hop.
The result is a perfectly balanced lager, using all English malts and a trio of hops delivering a genuinely local Pilsner beer.
Managing Director Simon George commented, “this is the first of many beers that will be launched since taking ownership of the brewery last year. Matt Anderson and the team have developed a sessionable Pilsner lager brewed to 4% ABV using all local ingredients to deliver a fantastic refreshing Pilsner beer. Initial feedback from consumers is extremely positive, and we are delighted to be selling this across Kent and the wider South-East”.
