THE BREWERY TEAM
ROLE: QUALITY TECHNICIAN
We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, and Curious individual to join our team at our Brewery in Ashford, Kent. Reporting directly to the Head of Production; the Quality Technician will be responsible for ensuring our quality standards are met from raw materials through to final product.

Key Responsibilities:
– Management of both the Phys-chem and microbiological laboratories at Curious Brewery. Ensuring that hygiene and 5S are maintained to high standards in both areas.
– Ensuring adherence to our Phys-chem, micro, & sensory sampling schedule to ensure that we maintain our high standards of control and product quality.
– Carrying out routine Phys-chem & micro analysis of raw materials, beer in process, and beer in final package.
– Maintenance of all quality standard operating procedures and specifications, including the training of brewing & packaging teams.
– Key member of HACCP and Food Safety team, ensuring adherence to SALSA, BRC, & FEMAS standards.
– Utilising GMP, 5-Why and PDCA principles to ensure continuous improvement of product Quality.
– Monitoring, reporting and improvement of core quality KPIs, such as Customer Complaints, Phys Chem Index & Micro Index
Requirements:
You will hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant Science and ideally have some experience within an FMCG environment. Brewing or drinks industry experience is a plus. You’ll be confident, motivated, and willing to learn about producing the beer and cider which is at the heart of what we do. In addition, you will also need:
– Previous experience in a quality assurance role preferred
– Knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) principles and practices
– Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify areas for improvement
– Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in work
– Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
– Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

Based at our brewery in Ashford, we operate Monday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 19:00 p.m. but may need to expand these hours as the business grows. This role is 09:00 to 17:00, but the successful candidate will need to be flexible beyond these hours to help support the needs of the production team.
